Echosonic Amp: Bill Gwaltney Interview
On this week’s Sunday Spotlight DV Magazine talks to 86 year old Bill Gwaltney, from Union City, Tennessee, who in 1955 asked local music shop owner, electronics wizard and fellow band member Ray Butts to build him a guitar ampilifier with a tape echo built-in. This was perhaps the very first amp with an on-board effect and was the model Scotty Moore used with Elvis. Bill is still gigging.
