Focusrite announces new Clarett Thunderbolt audio interfaces

Another Namm show and another anticipated release from Focusrite, this time coming in the shape of a brand new range of Thunderbolt interfaces, the Clarett Series.

Focusrite Clarett family

Available in four options, the Clarett 2Pre, Clarett 4 Pre, Clarett 8 Pre and Clarett 8 Pre X look pretty impressive, featuring newly designed Clarett mic preamps that reportedly replicate the impedance and transformer resonance of the world renowned ISA series. The Thunderbolt technology used in the claret range offers an incredible latency rate of under 1ms, which really is quite something.

Another top feature of the new interfaces from Focusrite is the conversion, with 24 bit, 192 kHz sample rates result in fantastic dynamic range (116dB A/D and 118dB D/A) and tremendous clarity. The Claretts’ are expandable via ADAT, feature MIDI I/O and offer a variety of detailed metering. The quality and speed of these new interfaces will no doubt place them pretty high on gear want lists this year. We’ll be getting more info on these products and many more over the next few days so keep your eyes on the dv247 magazine to keep up to date with all the latest developments at NAMM 2015.
