Vox MINI3

In a day of launches that’s driving the DV247 Blog team into a bit of a frenzy, Vox has announced the brand new MINI3 modelling guitar amplifier, which the company are describing as “the ultimate portable amp; agile and versatile with features that make it the perfect fit for every musician!”
It’s packing eleven different core amp models, and while anyone who’s au fait with Korg’s modelling technology will know what to expect in terms of crunchy, rocky tones, there are surprises too. For instance, a new, non-distorting clean model has been included as a nod towards electro-acoustic and keyboard players who want to plug in.
Effects are there in force too, including compressor, flanger, tremolo, reverb and delay, and for good measure there’s also a built-in tuner to mop up any performance errors.
As well as the aforementioned facility for keys and acoustic instruments, there’s also a dedicated mic input which has its own level, reverb and delay controls – the one-man band will be particularly pleased when it comes to pub gigs, we suspect. In fact, there’s also an AUX in for external audio sources, to either perform with or vamp to depending on what you’re up to. For the latter, a headphone amp allows silent practice too, and the option of either battery or AC power means that you can have a noodle around on your guitar just about everywhere (making use of the carry strap if needs be).
Finally, it must be added that you have a choice of colours – ivory, black and racing green. We’re excited about the Vox MINI3, and if you are too you should check back soon for more on the li’l cutie.
