Joe Satriani amPlug

joe-satriani-amplugFans of the folically-featureless and fleet-fingered Joe Satriani will, we suspect, be somewhat elated to discover that their guitar hero has put his name to a new signature model of Vox’s amPlug. The headphone amps has proven incredibly popular for the manufacturer, and so as well as giving this special version a striking red exterior as opposed to the usual black, they’ve also tricked it out with a host of unique appointments.

So, you get that lead tone on tap, with delay switched on and off as you please. The latter is analog-style in its response with a specific Satch EQ and filter. Unlike the usual rig you’d need to achieve all this, however, this little blighter has 11 hours of battery life, so you can simply plug your guitar straight into the jack connection and start rocking out. Smart.

Should you want to play along with the great man himself, or indeed anyone else, you can also hook up some external audio for an AUX jack too – perfect for jamming.

It’s not just a case of uncaring endorsement either – the sounds are based on Joe’s own VOX range of pedals (including the awesome Sachurator), so you really are getting some official squeal! We’ll very definitely be trying out the Joe Satriani Vox amPlug in a forthcoming review!

About Rob Sandall

Rob Sandall has written 507 post in this blog.

Having spent his life changing strings in guitar shops, writing and editing news and reviews of the latest music gear and gigging in admittedly-short-lived bands, Rob's particular passions lie with all things six-string and the bodger's world of home production. While he is perhaps not hugely rock and roll, his efforts as a biographer of those who are allow him to at least live a little vicariously through them, which is almost as good. Feel free to drop him a line for help, advice, or just to chat, but be warned: he does go on a bit.
