The Arturia V Collection 2The launch of V Collection 2 is leading French manufacturer and developer Arturia’s presence at the 2010 Musikmesse exhibition, marking the second iteration of the company’s synthesiser bundle which swiftly became a legend among computer-based producers.

Having won awards including Gear of the Decade and acquired a legion of fans in its lifetime, the original V Collection sought to bring together emulations of six of the world’s most famous and sought after synthesisers. Version 2.0 of the collection includes updated emulations of all the synths that were included in the original package, including the Minimoog V2, the Moog Modular V2.5, the CS-80V2, the ARP2600 V2, the Prophet V2 and the Jupiter-8 V2.

Also new for software hounds on the Arturia stand will be The One box set, which offers users the chance to try all of company’s virtual instruments for 15 days before choosing to activate one of them.

Arturia The OneIncluded in The One is the Moog Modular instrument, the Minimoog, the Jupiter-8V, the CS-80V, the ARP2600V, the Prophet V, Analog Factory and Brass. The box set, which incorporates VST, AU, RTAS, and standalone formats, is intended to help those new to the Arturia brand to sample the company’s virtual instruments en-masse without having to either purchase the instruments in bulk or download a number of different demo files.

Meanwhile, the manufacturer is set to follow its January launch of the hardware-based Analog Experience hybrid synthesisers by presenting them at Musikmesse. The synthesisers were initially previewed at the NAMM exhibition in California, as previously reported on the DV247 Blog.

The Analog Experience range is intended to succeed Arturia’s previous Analog Factory Experience, and comprises three models – the 25 key Analog Experience The Player, the 32 key Analog Experience The Factory, and the larger 49 key Analog Experience The Laboratory. The Player is the range’s starter model, boasting a compact MIDI keyboard controller and a light version of Analog Factory software. The Factory marks the second step-up in the range, adding a dedicated keyboard to Arturia’s Analog Factory software. Finally, the 49-key Laboratory is aimed at high-end players and offers the fullest access to the Factory software.

Finally, visitors to the Arturia Musikmesse stand will have a chance to see the Origin Keyboard for themselves, following DV247 Blog’s world exclusive review of the groundbreaking new synthesiser earlier today.

About Barney Jameson

Barney Jameson has written 165 post in this blog.

A contributor, editor and in some cases creator of more music and pro audio magazines than he cares to remember, Barney Jameson is a veteran of writing about gear, and a pretty keen singer songwriter to boot.

Having started his musical education reading old copies of the Melody Maker while riding the tube to University in the mid-nineties, Barney once sang in a band called Sugarstone, troubling record company chequebooks not quite enough to make it a career option. Instead, he achieved his goal of starting a music magazine of his own when he founded Playmusic in the early noughties. Later on, having exploited VIP access to as many festivals as possible, he wrote about the pro audio industry throughout Europe and the Middle East, travelling to far-flung destinations such as Dubai, Doha and Muscat (nice mountains).

As the latest addition to the DV247 team, Barney has big plans. But when he’s not plotting online domination of the musical instrument world, he keeps himself busy writing songs on a battered old acoustic guitar and playing them to audiences in his home town.

How is The One any different than just downloading the demos from the web site? (which has already been possible for, what, six or more years now?)
