namm-2010-vox-guitarsVox announces new single and double cutaway series 77, 55 and 33 electric guitar models at NAMM, featuring many of the design features of the Vox Virage range, first introduced in 2007. The distinctive styling of this new range is already attracting interest and there’s plenty of choice in body shapes with single or double cutaway and sharp or rounded horns in all three series.

The sharp -horned HDC-77 semi-hollow body is available in Blackburst, Siennaburst, Solid Ivory, and Trans Red and features the same inverse heel joint as the Virage, offering unparalled access to the top frets. The body is contoured along its length and width to maximize playing comfort. The MaxConnect bridge offers full height and intonation adjustment and Vox Super Smooth machine heads ensure tuning stability. Whisper-quiet CoAxe pickups offer three separate and distinctive tones, each derived from a different pickup element. These pickups are designed with a central coil wrapped around a secondary coil and tapped in several place to cancel hum in all three positions which Vox call, clean, crunch and dirty. There is a passive tone circuit with master volume and tone and mode switches on each pickup to offer a variety of tonal combinations. All colour options feature a figured maple-ply top and the guitar comes complete with a semi-rigid hardshell case.

There are two single cutaway SSC-55 models with ash tops available in Teaburst and Vintage Cream and two with maple tops available in a Goldtop or Black finish. Two of the double cutaway SDC-55 guitars come with ash tops in Teaburst and Trans Red and the maple top versions are available in a Goltop finish or Black. Both the SDC and SSC guitars have the inverse heel design allowing superior access to the top frets and distinctive headstocks that are inlaid with a winged ‘S’ shape mother-of-pearl motif. The Max Connect aluminium bridge offers extended adjustment for perfect intonation with any string  gauge. The mahogany necks are topped with rosewood boards. A semi-rigid hardshell case is included.

The Vox Series 33 solid body guitars, comprising the SSC-33 and SDC-33 models are available in both single and double cutaway versions and come in come in Teaburst and Vintage Cream for the ash top and Black and Gold for the solid mahogany, or Teaburst and Trans Red for the ash and Black or Gold for the mahogany fror the SSC and SDC guitars respectively. The 33s also offer the MaxConnect bridge and Vox Super Smooth tuners, a passive tone circuitry with master volume and tone, and mahogany necks with rosewood fingerboards. A gigbag is included.

All models feature have 22 fret necks and a 25.125″ scale length and Vox claim the the range offers guitars with rich, thick tone with clear, singing harmonics. The attractive finishes on these new Vox guitars combined with the quality tonewoods used and the super stable MaxConnect bridge will ensure that these guitars are destined for a good few shop walls.
