The Digitech JamMan solo and JamMan StereoThe DigiTech JamMan Solo and JamMan Stereo Looper pedals have both been released at NAMM 2010, offering looping effects either for single players wanting to experiment with their sound or jamming guitarists wanting to loop backing tracks. The launch comes almost a decade after the DigiTech brand released the original and hugely popular JamMan pedal.

The JamMan Stereo features true stereo loops plus reverse playback to enable its use for playing backing tracks, while the JamMan Solo is described by Digitech as full-featured despite its compact size. Both pedals can store 35 minutes of CD-quality loops in 99 loops internally, while the two also boast an SD memory card expansion slot to allow users enough space for an additional 16 hours worth of material.

Included with both pedals meanwhile is JamManager software, which has been developed to help players organise their loops and create JamLists on a PC or Mac. The software connects to the JamMan Solo and JamMan Stereo via USB.

Among the other features to be found on the two pedals are a metronome with multiple rhythm sounds and time signatures, automatic recording, and a hands-free function. An XLR input is also included.

About Barney Jameson

Barney Jameson has written 165 post in this blog.

A contributor, editor and in some cases creator of more music and pro audio magazines than he cares to remember, Barney Jameson is a veteran of writing about gear, and a pretty keen singer songwriter to boot.

Having started his musical education reading old copies of the Melody Maker while riding the tube to University in the mid-nineties, Barney once sang in a band called Sugarstone, troubling record company chequebooks not quite enough to make it a career option. Instead, he achieved his goal of starting a music magazine of his own when he founded Playmusic in the early noughties. Later on, having exploited VIP access to as many festivals as possible, he wrote about the pro audio industry throughout Europe and the Middle East, travelling to far-flung destinations such as Dubai, Doha and Muscat (nice mountains).

As the latest addition to the DV247 team, Barney has big plans. But when he’s not plotting online domination of the musical instrument world, he keeps himself busy writing songs on a battered old acoustic guitar and playing them to audiences in his home town.
