The Fender G DEC 3 FifteenThe Fender G-DEC 3 amplifier series has been announced ahead of NAMM 2010, with the lure of onboard presets and audio performance loops that have been created by top artists and session musicians set to entice excitement at the Californian exhibition, which starts on January 14th.

The new range comprises two models, the 30W G-DEC 3 Thirty and 15W G-DEC 3 Fifteen, the amplifiers’ onboard presets and loops have been designed, says Fender, to “deliver genre-accurate, non-generic audio”. Both amplifiers can also be connected to a computer via USB for customisation using Fender’s Fuse software interface, which allows users to download and upload backing tracks within the Fuse community.

Among the artists to have contributed the range are Eric Johnson, Charlie Benante and Frank Bello of Anthrax, Def Leppard’s Phil Collen, Fall Out Boy’s Joe Trohman, Brad Paisley, Dweezil Zappa, Jim “Rev. Horton Heat” Heath, Keith Urban, Hatebreed, Nils Lofgren, Gary Hoey, Crooked X, bassist Tony Franklin and Strung Out.

The broad range of musical styles represented by the chosen artists is intended to highlight the versatility of the G-Dec 3 range – both the 15W and 30W amplifiers offer digital amp and effects models that can be altered to reflect the player’s chosen style. Also included is onboard MP3 and Wav file storage and playback, and an SD card slot. Both amplifiers allow users to mix and match presets and onboard backing tracks to create customised solo jamming sessions in a variety of musical styles.

The announcement of the G-DEC 3 series follows the announcement by DV247 of a wealth of new guitars, amplifiers and portable PA systems, all of which are set to make their debut at the NAMM 2010 exhibition. We’ll bring you more information on the Fender G-DEC 3 series soon.

About Barney Jameson

Barney Jameson has written 165 post in this blog.

A contributor, editor and in some cases creator of more music and pro audio magazines than he cares to remember, Barney Jameson is a veteran of writing about gear, and a pretty keen singer songwriter to boot.

Having started his musical education reading old copies of the Melody Maker while riding the tube to University in the mid-nineties, Barney once sang in a band called Sugarstone, troubling record company chequebooks not quite enough to make it a career option. Instead, he achieved his goal of starting a music magazine of his own when he founded Playmusic in the early noughties. Later on, having exploited VIP access to as many festivals as possible, he wrote about the pro audio industry throughout Europe and the Middle East, travelling to far-flung destinations such as Dubai, Doha and Muscat (nice mountains).

As the latest addition to the DV247 team, Barney has big plans. But when he’s not plotting online domination of the musical instrument world, he keeps himself busy writing songs on a battered old acoustic guitar and playing them to audiences in his home town.
