Amplifying Fourth Plinth Stories At Trafalgar Square

Earlier today I received a message from a colleague in the sales team who had received a phone call from Amanda Blakeley.
She is one of the 2400 people chosen to stand on Trafalgar Square’s Fourth Plinth as part of British artist Antony Gormley’s ‘One & Other’ project to represent humanity via a different member of the public every hour, 24 hours a day, for 100 days without a break.
At 1pm on Monday 10th August, Amanda will be reading children’s stories for her one-hour contribution to the live artwork, which is run in association with Sky Arts. To amplify her voice, Amanda would require a wireless microphone and a portable PA system, as always DV were more than happy to lend a helping hand for such a special event.
Along with advice from Justin of the DV East London store, we put together the perfect microphone and portable PA combination for Amanda, which is comprised of a Sennheiser EW 135-P G2 wireless microphone system and, affluent busker’s favourite — the Roland Cube Street battery powered amplifier.
I’ll be reporting back on Monday afternoon with plenty of photos and more about the event. If you can’t make it to Trafalgar Square you can watch it on a live webstream on the home page of the One and Other website.

Sounds like an interesting project, and a good idea to cover it. Don’t forget the batteries!
