Apogee One & Only

When is a portable audio interface not a portable audio interface? When it’s a Microphone, Instrument input, World class pre-amp and studio quality stereo out device all in ‘One’, that’s when! So here it is, the Apogee One. Not much bigger than an iPhone, this (Mac only) mini-marvel is not only unique, aesthetically pleasing and functional, it’s a feature packed A/I that can easily record a live musician or a full ensemble.
Connected to a Macbook via USB, this is a great mobile recording partner for Logic, Garage Band and Final Cut etc. Use the internal ‘Tuned Aperture’ reference condenser mic for recording or if you prefer your own fave studio Mic, just plug it into the XLR input to access a world class pre amp (with phantom power) and your good to go.
For guitar, bass or keyboard etc, insert your weapon of choice into the 1/4″ Hi-Z low noise input and take your monitor from the studio quality 1/8″ stereo output to cans or active monitors. The One’s multi function ‘click ‘n turn’ encoder knob handles direct access selection and up/down volume control with ease (on screen visual indicates level) or with the bundled Maestro software, full control all of the unit’s functionality is possible.
Of course, 24 bit audio at 44.1 or 48kHz sample rates is standard and the implementation of the included breakout cable handles strain relief whilst maintaining that previously mentioned aesthetic appeal. Hats off to Apogee for releasing one of the coolest, most useful pieces of kit we’ve seen in a long time!
