Just checked a fab collection of differing packages to purchase Ableton’s Live 7, Live 8 & Suite with a FREE Korg NanoKontrol Also, there’s been some interesting web chat about the forthcoming release of Live 8 and the NanoKontrol and there’s certainly lots to look forward to when Live 8 finally lands:

Groove Engine: Accessing a large amount of new, and vastly editable groove templates via the ‘Groove Pool’, Live 8 allows realtime adjustment of timing and parameter changes. Once you’re happy, simply ‘print’ the new feel into the clip. Also, it’s possible to drop an audio clip into the Live pane and have the groove analyzed and exported back as a midi quantize template – cool :-)

Intuitive Warping: The enhanced Beats Warp mode gives the control that Live users have been waiting for when warping full, rhythm based tracks. For more complex polyphonic sounds/sequences, ‘Complex’ mode ensures accurate, better than ever time adjustment of events.

Looper: A great improv tool for performers to jam and layer grooves, licks and sequences over a ‘player tempo defined’ loop. This will have a multitude of uses when playing live or working out vibes in the studio

Five New Effects: Including – Vocoder (with great sound design possibilities), Overdrive, Frequency Shifter (50′s Sci-Fi-Tastic!) and Limiter for the ‘brickwall’ generation…

General Enhancements: Crossfades now available in the arrange view, Enhanced Midi Editing, Ease of mixing and control with Group Tracks, Screen Magnifier to zoom in and out where demands dictate, and Improved Plug In Control for grabbing those most used parameters into a new window and having quick and easy access to only the ones you want to see!

Suite 8 – 2 New Instruments: Collision is a new instrument that seems to be focused on melodic percussive voices (mallets etc), and.. Latin Percussion, exactly as it says on the tin, from Cuba to Brazil, you not only get the sounds, but it appears the drummer/percussionist aswell (via template groove clips)

Plus: A new Mastering effects rack, and loop libraries from Cycling 74 and Zero G. – As if all the above weren’t enough!!
