Guitar events, prizes and beer – Free!

guitar eventsYou’re a Guitar player. You like Guitars. You like prize giveaways. You like free beer. You’ve got spare time on Saturdays and the odd midweek evening? Well, no excuse then. Get your riff jamming, string shredding, plucking derrieres over to your nearest DV store and enjoy what is literally a bonanza series of great (and FREE) Guitar events upcoming through the Autumn/Winter season.

First up is PRS endorsed virtuoso guitarist , Simon McBride. The industry pedigree of this young Irisman equals that of the guitars he plays. You can spend one or all of three October evenings seeing him perform and get an opportunity to chat with this talented chap about his, and your life with guitars. There’s also a chance to win a £250 Paul Reed Smith voucher and free beer to boot. Really, what more could you ask for?

Next up are some October/November Saturdays with Marshall amp guru, Chris George. This former ‘Young Guitarist of the Year’ has toured the world performing with his beloved amps, also taking his Chris George band to millions of fans globally. For the DV events, and celebrating the arrival of the new Class 5 and MA Series, it’s a good reason to check Chris out and chat all things Marshall.

More free events just keep a’comin’ with manufacturer specials well into the Christmas period. Vox amps and pedals take to the road and hit DV Guitar stores between October through ’til December. Fender Guitar and amp specialist Damon Chivers is on-site during October/November, and finally Gibson celebrate 50 years of the legendary Les Paul at two events, October 17th  and December 5th. Paul Dakeyne is a DJ/Producer who has dedicated the past two decades of his life to dance music production and DJ'ing. For six years, he toured globally for the world famous Ministry of Sound and has played DJ sets for the likes of U2 and for the legendary, Kraftwerk, Although remixing around 250 records in his career, as an artist in his own right, Paul landed one of dance music's seminal crossover moments with his "18 Strings' monster hit by Tinman - scoring a UK top ten in 1994. He also co-wrote and produced the music for BBC's Watchdog and Crimewatch when they were both revamped in 2001 and '06 respectively. His other career highlights have included an A&R stint for Mercury Records, lecturing in 'DJ culture and music technology' and creating mash-up mixes for Radio 1's, Chris Moyles. Paul joined the DV group in 2003 leading to his role as blog and feature author here at the DV Mag.
